Yasmin Sewell is a fashion retail consultant, creative advisor for
fashion brands and trend forecaster. Setting up her consultancy
in 2008, she and her team work on projects including retail
strategies for international stores, trend direction for fashion
brands in all markets and creative direction for young designers.

Originally from Australia, Sewell now lives in London. Setting up
her own boutique Yasmin Cho in 1999, she also worked as Buying
Director for all of Browns’ boutiques for three years. Sewell has
become known for her ability to predict what women will want to
wear in six months time. Working largely on instinct, she launched
brands such as Rick Owens in to the UK, and was also an early
champion of Acne, Christopher Kane and Pierre Hardy.

Moving between fledgling labels, premium high street and global
luxury brands easily, Sewell has invaluable, international insight
that can work within many different approaches to fashion. She
is able to bring fresh ideas to a variety of projects, and a unique,
forward-thinking point of view. Her skill at judging the best
commercial and creative plans is adaptable to each client.

This is backed up by her track record so far. Her most recent
role has been as Chief Creative Consultant for Liberty—Sewell
overhauled the iconic store’s womenswear department. She
brought in over 60 designers, and had the space redesigned
to make it more attractive to women shoppers. In August 2009,
Liberty reported its biggest half-yearly profit for over 10 years.

Sewell is also committed to supporting young talent in the fashion
industry. Her eye for new designers is well-known, and this
reputation has been acknowledged through Sewell’s work with the
British Fashion Council. She has sat on boards including Swarovski
Emerging Talent Award and has twice been a judge for the British
Fashion Awards.
